Dixie Youth Athletic Association was founded in 2019 as the youth football and cheerleading feeder program to Turkey Foot Middle School and Dixie Heights High School. We are not affiliated with either school as we are our own tax-exempt entity that is ran by volunteers. This means all the money we bring in goes directly towards the kids in the form of equipment, uniforms, field rentals, official fees, league fees, etc. Therefore, we rely heavily on fundraisers, donations, and sponsorships to keep our fees as low as possible.
What we offer:
We offer flag football, tackle football, and cheerleading through the Northern Kentucky Youth Football League for ages 4 through 11 (preschool through 6th grade). Our participants are restricted to a league specified boundary that contains all of Edgewood, all of Crestview Hills, parts of Erlanger, and parts of Lakeside Park. The kids in these areas attend RC Hinsdale Elementary, Caywood Elementary, Turkey Foot Middle School, and St. Pius.
We are now a USA Lacrosse sanctioned organization playing in the Southern Ohio Lacrosse League. We offer teams for kindergarten through 6th grade. Our lacrosse program has no boundaries so we can accept kids from all over the area.
Mission Statement – A Dixie Youth Colonel will:
1. Pursue excellence and build character through cheer, football, and/or lacrosse.
2. Prepare, practice, and compete to win on and off the field, in the classroom, and in the game of life.
3. Aspire to be leaders, positive role models, successful students, responsible citizens, and productive workers.
Goals:
1. Familiarize participants with the fundamentals of cheerleading, football, and lacrosse.
2. Provide opportunities to play in an organized, safe, and moral environment.
3. Instill a “kids first” philosophy in all decisions that affect our program.
4. Encourage our student-athletes to participate in cheerleading, football, and lacrosse when they enter Turkey Foot Middle School and Dixie Heights High School.
